Company culture is often something you can feel, even as an outsider. Studies confirm that employee happiness translates into efficiency, creativity and productivity. This positive effect on employees also extends to customers.

ROLE

As the first designer hired by the founding team of Perka, a mobile loyalty start-up, I aimed to create an inclusive culture where employees celebrate their work, recognize each other's wins, share ideas, and welcome new team members.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Visual design, art direction, and brand design

Web design, print design, and illustration

Assisted with the build-out of our new office, including a neon welcome sign and other signage

Perka Patch Program

As an early employee at a growing start-up, I proposed the Perka Patch Program to welcome new hires and organize team-building activities like hackathons and volunteering. The program included patches and requirements for earning them.

Chalkboards

The design team had fun with the large chalkboard wall in our NYC office. It started with my crossword puzzle idea, inviting coworkers to solve the clues with the names of real Perka merchants.
